I supesct the 50D I supesct the 50D and the 7D share many controls. If cost isnt an issue and you want a Canon mid range camera then the 7D should be your choice because many of its features have been upgraded over the 50D. If you arent dead set on Canon then its worth looking at Nikon too D90 is good, D300 is good too..
